Description: This will be the classic fight on 16 June between Wellington

and Ney. The game will be fought using the board game Command and Colors but with 15mm miniatures.

Description:

Owiumbo, April 13, 1904: A few days ago at Onganjira, a large composite force of several Herero detachments battled the Hauptabteilung (the main German field force). In a desperate fight the Germans came within a hair’s breadth of defeat. But in the end, the Hereros took heavy casualties and were forced to abandon their trenches. The Hereros know that the Hauptabteilung is now coming to Owiumbo, looking for water for man and beast. At Owiumbo, the Hereros are ready to avenge their fallen comrades. They have assembled another huge combined army, including some survivors from Onganjira. The Herero mission: ambush, outflank, and encircle the German Hauptabteilung and then destroy it!

The Battle of Jutland opened with a tremendous clash of the British and German battlecruiser squadrons. The most dramatic events of the entire battle occurred during this phase of the largest naval battle of the Great War. (Rules taught; beginners welcome.)

Description:

Stalingrad, 18 September 1942. The German 94th Infantry Division and 29th Motorised Division attempt to wrest control of southern Stalingrad, including the Grain Elevator and the Canning Factory, from the NKVD and Naval Brigade defenders. Small assault parties of infantry, supported by StuGs and Panzers, clear each building one by one, to within sight of the Volga... Command Decision/Test of Battle rules in 12mm.

Venue

The library is located at roughly I-66 and US 29. Directions Follow. The Centreville Shopping Center directly across the street has a variety of resteraunts.

Parking:

Outdoor lot parking is available free of charge.

Public Transportation:

Fairfax Connector 641 travels between the Vienna Metro Station and the Centreville United Methodist Church Park and Ride.

From Rt. 66 East:

Traveling east on Rt. 66 from west of Centreville, take Exit 52. Stay to the right.

From Exit 52, proceed to Rt. 29 North. Rt. 29 is marked North at this point; however, it is really an easterly direction.

Turn right onto Machen Road (just before the intersection of Rts. 29 and 28).
